KW: So what brings you back to Knoxville?
JH: My sister's having a baby girl.

KW: When it comes time are you going to
teach your new little niece what it takes to be
the next Jeff House?
JH: Yeah absolutely, if she wants to.
KW: Back in school were you a geek
or a jock?
JH: Haha kind of neither. I was just
there as little as I could be.

KW: Do you still keep in touch with
your high school friends?
JH: Yeah I try too. It's hard though.

KW: First invert you ever landed?
JH: Toeside front roll.

KW: Who would you say inspired
you the most when you first got into
wakeboarding?
JH: My sister's old boyfriend, Erik
Kuehnen.
KW: So have you had a full recovery from your ACL replacement and are you 100%
injury free right now?
JH: Yeah my knee is fully recovered, and I actually made it through a whole season
wo/getting hurt. For once.

KW: What was it like the first time you saw a full two page add with your ugly mug
across it in one of these magazines?
JH: Haha, it was definitely surreal. When you grow up looking at these mags. and then
one day you see yourself in them... it's just crazy.

KW: So in the most recent Wakeboarding Magazine (April) you have a full page ad in
which you are looking up to the stars above for what looks like inspiration. What were
you going for on that photo shoot, crazy, sexy or cool?
JH: Haha I just try to make myself look as intelligent as possible. You know, always in
deep thought.
KW: Favorite place to ride in Knoxville and
who do you ride with when your here?
JH: Ft. Loudon for sure. My boys Drew Kirby,
Blake Hennesy, John Mills, Chad Curtis, and
occasionally the Nyker Sheldon.

KW: How long have you been a "Pro"
wakeboarder?
JH: This is my 2nd year.

KW: Are you trying to make a career out of
wakeboarding, or are you just having fun with
it for now?
JH: No I'm definitely trying to turn this into a
long term deal. I love this industry too much
not to.

KW: If you weren’t wakeboarding for a living
what do you think you would be doing right
now?
JH: I'd probably be wasting time in college.
Not saying that college is a waste of time, I
just probably would be.
KW: Are you looking forward to the 2007 Pro Tour?
JH: Yeah for sure.

KW: Any specific goals this year?
JH: Just do as good as I can.

KW: You made the big move from Juniors to Pro last year, how was that and how was
it going head-to-head with the "man of style" himself, Danny Harf at your first stop?
JH: Haha, ridiculous. I'm just pumped to stand on the dock next to him.

KW: Do you enjoy competitions?
JH: I do if there's not 3 ft. chop, and you can actually cut into the wake. Some tour
stops last year were a joke. It's just not that much fun when its like that.

KW: What is your opinion on the Pro Tours head-to-head bracket system that they
went to last year (pros/cons)?
JH: I liked it, even though it made it a lot harder. It made the heats way more
personal.  Like it's just you and the guy your going against on the dock.

KW: Do you think the sport of wakeboarding is heading in a good direction?
JH: I think so. It's getting big enough now where a lot more riders are just freeriding
all the time. Not worrying about contests that much. That's how the sport is going to
progress.
KW: You had a great write up in this
months Alliance magazine. How does it
feel to be compared to riders like Benny G
and Murray as far as your riding style?
JH: To hear that people like to watch me
ride, or that I ride like those guys is the
best compliment I could ever get.

KW: How is it riding for big company
names like CWB, Mastercraft and
Quicksilver?
JH: It's almost unbelievable. I've looked
up to these companies since I first
started riding. Then Quiksilver got into
wake, and I was blown away that they
wanted me on the team. It's definitely a
privilege working w/these companies.

KW: How is it having someone like Ben
Greenwood has a team manager?
JH: It's awesome. Ben does such a good
job. He's so chill and relaxed, but if
something has to be done.... he gets it
done. Not to mention he's one of the
sickest riders to watch ride. I'm lucky to
have him as a manager/friend. Except he
makes me call him boss.
KW: Any possibility of you one day getting your own Pro Model board and if so what would you call it.... "Squirts?"
JH: Yeah, that's my dream to have a pro model. I probably wouldn't call it squirts, but it's a thought.

KW: What did you think about your boy JD Webb’s little 70' gap over Orlando’s Lake Eola Fountain?
JH: Blew me away. That's the highest anyone has ever gone on a wakeboard. Period.  Mad props for sure.

KW: Working on any new wakeboard videos for the 2007 or 2008 year?
JH: Yeah I've actually been filming w/a couple guys for some new videos. Danny Turner w/hypoxic films, his video should be out this summer. And
Paul Saunders is putting out a video in the late summer probably.

KW: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
JH: Hopefully still riding.
KW: If Knox Wake dropped the big names of
their roster say like Harf, Watson, Murray and
Benny G. to pick up Jeff House for lets say....
$100,000,000 a year, would Jeff except?
JH: Just because I love Knoxville.

KW: Napoleon or Kip?
JH: Jeff from grandma's boy.

KW: Any thanks or shout-outs?
JH: Thanks to everybody in Knoxville that rides.
Knoxville could have one of the best scenes in
the country.  We have so much water and I
know the talent is out there. Just keep pushing it.

KW: Big thanks to Jeff for taking the time to do
this interview. Knox Wake along with all your
local fans wish you the best of luck in the
2007-2008 season!
Represent us well or else....
Also big thanks to Allan Mueller for all the great photos of Jeff.
