So how did you get the nickname
"Man Muscles"?
I guess all my friends just started picking on me for my
wakeboarding muscles and it just stuck.
What year are you in High School?
Junior
What do you do when you're not wakeboarding?
No certain thing. I like all board-sports, so if I'm not wakeboarding I'm usually doing
some other kind of boarding.
What would you say is your favorite thing about wakeboarding?
The lifestyle. Also the feeling of landing a new trick for the first time.
What have you been doing during the cold months here in Tennessee when you
can't ride?
I jumped on the trampoline almost everyday, skateboarded some, and went
snowboarding a few times, and watched wake videos to get me psyched on riding.
How do you train in the off season?
Indo board, tramp, and rope and jug handle-passer.
Tell me about the lake you ride on Lake Holiday.
Its pretty much a big circle but there are several passes we can take to almost always
get good water. It's also where we get some of our drinking water so its pretty clean
and clear I like that.
What are your goals for this season?
I really want to get as many of the stock inverts and spins as I can. And a raley.
What setup are you currently on and how do you like it?
Ronix Krush 134 w/ Rise bindings (Thanks to Mission) and I absolutely love it. It has
great pop and the bindings are the best I have ever put on. Adam Fields says it is a
much better set up for me than what i was previously on.
What length line do you ride?
65 I'm working on going longer though. Everyone is always raggin' on me for my short
rope.
What would be your perfect boat setup?
It doesn't matter so much what kind of boat, but I like big steep-ish wakes not so
much the mellow-ish kind.
How did you get in with Mission Boarding Co.?
Hmm. My uncle and his family have done business with them and Randy for a long time
and my uncle got to talking with Doug and things just seemed to work out. I'm so
excited to finally be a part of a team!
Tell me about Jr. Women's at the Board up event in Miami (Pan Am Regional event)
which qualifies you for the Pan Am games and the Masters. What did your run
consist of?
It was one of the best tournaments I've competed in. There were people there from all
over, and the site was just a cool set up because the pros and all the other riders
were hanging out together. Since the water was pretty choppy I tried to do some cool
looking grabs and 180s, backroll and I slid out on a frontroll in the finals, but I was
pleased with my rides. And I'm so excited about the Masters, I have been to that
tournament since I was born. This is also the first year they have had a Jr. Womens
division so to get to be a part of that is awesome.
How was it riding with Emily Copeland Durham?
----do you mean riding against her in the contest?
Let me rephrase that...What was it like riding against Pros like Emily Copeland
Durham?
Riding against the pros was really cool cause it made me really want to ride my best so
I could hang with them as much as I possibly could. I got third in my heat when riding
against the pros.
Where would you like to see yourself five years from now?
I definitely would like to see my self still wakeboarding and pro would be awesome if
not just still having fun and learning new stuff.
Are there any riders that you are influenced by (girls and guys) and why?
There are several. Adam Fields because he is really innovative when it comes to his
tricks he does things you won't see anyone else doing. Barrett Pearlman because no
matter how hard she falls she gets back up and goes just as hard for the trick she fell
on. Randy Harris and Keith Lyman for their style. And Dallas Friday because she
wanted to be the best and worked hard until she got there.
What advice would you give to other girl riders wanting to try wakeboarding?
Just to get out there, be strong, and have fun doing the tricks you want. Thats what's
so great about wakeboarding, no matter how good you are you can still love it as
much as the pro's or anyone else. So just like what you do, and don't be ashamed to
ride like a girl! haha
Alex Oliver is filming a wakeboard video of all the local riders in the area and will
be premiering it at the end of the season. Any chance you will be riding in that
video for the girls?
I haven't heard about it, but it sounds like a great idea and I would def be interested
You have been labeled as one of the top girl riders in Tennessee, what do you think
about that?
I think it's awesome that people think that! I've worked hard to get to where I am and
I'm real appreciative of everyone who has helped and believed in me.
Current Sponsors?
Mission Boarding Co. and parents.
Is there anyone that you would like to thank or send a shout out to?
Thanks to "Coach Tim" and family, my rents, the Aslingers, Adam Feilds, Kayce Brewer,
and anyone who has given me a pull or anything else.
