Wow! I can't believe how warm it was! Had to be in the mid sixties. Unbelievable for
January 13. And the rain which seemed so certain two days before, never appeared.
By noon I had stripped down to a T-shirt and pants - it was that warm. The skiers only
had to put up with 49 degree water too. Couldn't ask for better weather than that.
Heck, if it gets any warmer, we'll have to rename it the Hawaiian Escapades!
I only have preliminary information right now, but, I think we had around 125 skiers
who raised a little over $23,000. That's a record amount. When we add in the
donations from our corporate sponsors, the total may be thirty-five to forty thousand
dollars. Great Job, skiers!
My wife took some pictures of the skiers on land and I've uploaded some of them just
so you'll have something to look at today. The official photographers Allan and Lisa
Mueller (ALM Photo) took well over a thousand pictures which they are culling and
editing and when they get finished, they'll give me a DVD and I'll get them uploaded. In
the meantime, click on the "Ski Pics 2007" menu item for a little hint of pictures to
come. Enjoy!
Did you know Elvis is alive and well? Yup. He was at this year's Eskimo Escapades. We
even have the pictures to prove it. We also saw Batman and Peter Pan and we had
people tubing on a banana! There was a guy who not only managed to stay on top of
a plywood disk, but even sat on a flimsy little highchair on top of the disk. If you
weren't there, you missed a lot of fun.
